11 March 2020 – HMRC has announced changes to the calculation of top slicing relief for gains from life insurance policies arising after Budget Day.  The changes relate to the personal allowance that is available and how allowances and reliefs are to be set off against gains.  HMRC’s Insurance Policyholder Taxation Manual guidance will be updated accordingly in due course.
